About The Position

The Bucket Operator effectively and safely operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. This safety-sensitive role includes supporting daily crew activities, maintaining equipment, protecting employees and the public, completing required reporting, and performing storm work as needed. The position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet applicable background-check, drug-screen, and work-authorization requirements.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in Vegetation Management.
• Bucket truck operation experience.
• Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operation of all equipment used.
• Ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Skid steer with mulcher operation experience.
• Experience in the safe operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Experience operating a woodchipper.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this safety-sensitive position.
• Must meet I-9 work-authorization requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Split dump driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Assist in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at the Foreperson’s direction.
• Operate equipment as directed by the Foreperson.
• Help maintain and repair equipment and tools used in operations.
• Assist other crew members in daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, and other protections for employees and the public.
• Keep informed about new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee-relations policies and practices.
• Track and report mileage to the Foreperson.
• Perform storm-work duties as needed.
• Submit timesheets and billing information through the AMS system as part of daily reporting.
• Maintain above-standard customer relations.
• Report accidents.
