About The Position
The Bucket Operator effectively and safely operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. This role involves assisting in preparing equipment, operating machinery as directed, and maintaining tools and equipment. The operator is also responsible for debris cleanup, setting up safety barriers, and maintaining positive customer relations. This position requires adherence to all safety practices and procedures, and may involve storm work as needed. Daily reporting using the AMS system is required for timesheets and billing.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Two years' experience in Vegetation Management.
- Bucket truck operation experience required.
- Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
- Able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
- Must have skid steer w/ mulcher operation experience.
- Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Must have experience operating a woodchipper.
- Must meet I-9 requirements.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Split dump driving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
- Assists in preparing equipment and materials for daily work.
- Operates equipment as directed by the Foreperson.
- Helps maintain and repair equipment and tools.
- Assists other crew members in daily activities and takes a leadership role when required.
- Cleans up and disposes of all debris.
- Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc., to protect employees and the public.
- Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices.
- Tracks and reports mileage to the Foreperson.
- Performs duties for storm work as needed.
- Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
- Maintains above standard customer relations.
- Handles accident reporting.
