Bucket Operator - Tappahannock, VA
About The Position
The Bucket Operator effectively and safely operates a bucket truck to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. This role requires a valid driver's license and adherence to safety practices. The operator will assist in preparing equipment, operate machinery as directed, and help maintain and repair tools and equipment. Responsibilities include assisting crew members, cleaning up debris, setting up safety barriers, staying informed on industry practices, tracking mileage, performing storm work as needed, and maintaining positive customer relations. Daily reporting using the AMS system for timesheets and billing is also required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Two years' experience in Vegetation Management.
- Bucket truck operation experience required.
- Knowledge of daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used.
- Able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
- Clean driving record.
- Skid steer w/ mulcher operation experience.
- Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Experience operating woodchipper.
- Must meet I-9 requirements.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Split dump driving experience preferred.
Responsibilities

- Help maintain and repair equipment and tools.
- Assist other crew members in daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
- Clean up and dispose of all debris.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc., to protect employees and the public.
- Keep informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices.
- Track and report mileage to the Foreperson.
- Perform duties for storm work as needed.
- Perform daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
- Maintain above standard customer relations.
- Accident Reporting.
