About The Position

The Brokerage Assistant supports the Brokerage department by reviewing applications, evaluating risk, and determining which markets to approach for brokerage accounts. This is an entry-level role intended as a starting point for growth toward underwriting. No insurance experience is required. The position is based in Plantation, Florida, and offers a starting salary of $53,000 per year plus bonus opportunities.

Nice To Haves

An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Follow up on submissions and quotes.
Process clerical items, including inspections, cancellations, audits, and endorsements.
Correspond with underwriters and carriers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests regarding brokerage items.
Prepare the brokerage production spreadsheet using Excel.
Maintain brokerage marketing and reference tools using Excel.
Collect data on submissions, quotes, rates, and related items.
Review existing brokerage files in preparation for supporting new markets.
Assist with new-business submissions in the absence of a brokerage underwriter or associate broker.
