About The Position

The Bridge Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for bridge projects in the Shreveport, LA area, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role on heavy civil construction projects, with significant experience specifically in bridge construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and completing bridge projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of bridge construction methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites in the Shreveport, LA area.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all aspects of bridge construction projects from planning to completion, including site layout, concrete pouring, steel erection, and finishing work.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, monitor progress, and report on deviations.
  • Coordinate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Supervise and mentor on-site crews, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues and conflicts promptly.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress reports.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project status.
