About The Position

The Bridge Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for bridge projects in the Shreveport, LA area, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role on heavy civil construction projects, with significant experience specifically in bridge construction.
Proven track record of successfully managing and completing bridge projects.
Thorough knowledge of bridge construction methods, techniques, and materials.
Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in project scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites in the Shreveport, LA area.

Nice To Haves

OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise all aspects of bridge construction projects from planning to completion, including site layout, concrete pouring, steel erection, and finishing work.
Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
Develop and implement project schedules, monitor progress, and report on deviations.
Coordinate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Supervise and mentor on-site crews, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with plans and specifications.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
Identify and resolve construction issues and conflicts promptly.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress reports.
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project status.
