About The Position

The Michigan Business unit of Modjeski and Masters is seeking a Structural Bridge Design Engineer - Team Leader. This role involves leading and coordinating structural design efforts on multiple, concurrent projects, managing the work of engineers and technicians, and actively participating in project planning, design approaches, and monitoring project schedules and budgets. The position also includes performing quality control of design deliverables and mentoring less experienced staff. A fully remote option is available for applicants with Michigan DOT/Local Agency project management/design experience. As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer, you will work on diverse and challenging bridge engineering projects, performing engineering tasks under supervision, interacting with clients, and contributing to high-impact projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 10 + years of engineering experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Professional Engineering licensure with ability to obtain licensure/reciprocity in MI
  • Extensive knowledge of technical skills of bridge analysis, design, rehabilitation, detailing and plan production
  • Knowledge of MDOT QA/QC policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Open Bridge Modeler and MicroStation
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate structural design efforts on multiple, concurrent projects

  • Perform quality control of design deliverables
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff
  • Be involved in marketing or presenting to clients

  • Generate drawings
  • Perform other technical duties
