About The Position
Fehr Graham is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Lead Structural Engineer with a passion for designing bridges to join their growing engineering and environmental firm. This role is for a proactive communicator who can lead and develop the structural engineering team, contributing to the expansion into new markets. The position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, focusing on bridge inspection and design, and utilizing knowledge of structural components, including bridges, retaining walls, and Department of Transportation design standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 7 to 11 years of experience designing steel and concrete structures.
- Licensed structural engineer in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin or demonstrate the ability to secure these licensures.
- Know construction methods and materials and code requirements.
- Know how to develop design and construction plans.
- Use structural engineering software.
- Speak and write well.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Be a team player.
Responsibilities
- Provide bridge inspection and design services.
- Actively lead, develop and grow the structural engineering team.
- Be familiar with structural components.
- Work cross functionally with the Transportation team on projects.
