About The Position

The Bridge CAD Technician Manager will utilize a CAD workstation to develop and prepare engineering drawings utilizing practical design knowledge for roadway projects. This role involves working closely with engineers and other designers to ensure coordinated design systems, and compiling data and performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant drafting experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing and leading a team
  • Proficient in the use of Microstation or other roadway design software (Geopak, InRoads, Civil 3D)
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with other co-workers and clients

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in INDOT road plan development utilizing OpenRoads Software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process field collected data into CAD drawings related to various land surveying projects.
  • Develop and enforce CAD standards, drafting workflows, and maintain templates to ensure consistency.
  • Collaborate with project managers and land surveyors to gather and organize project data, specifications, and other requirements to ensure accurate CAD representation.
  • Ensure that all CAD drawings adhere to company drafting standards, industry best practices, and relevant regulations.
  • Review and perform quality checks on CAD drawings to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with land surveyors, and other specialists to ensure seamless integration of CAD drawings with project goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that all CAD work complies with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
