About The Position

The CAD Manager is responsible for leading the CAD drafting team. This role ensures the team performs a wide range of drafting tasks, prepares plans, layouts, as-builts, and detailed drawings. The manager assumes responsibility for understanding building codes, developing details, and organizing construction documents. They will revise existing drawings as required, correct “as-built” drawings, and conceptualize, design, and communicate in CAD using current industry standards. Additionally, the role involves maintaining design and drawing archives, scaling drawings for shop drawings, organizing project folders, applying technical design knowledge, creating new drawings, and editing existing ones.

Requirements

• 2 year Technical degree; A.A.S. degree in drafting or equivalent
• 5+ years of Drafting experience
• Full understanding of CAD software
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and have database knowledge
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good mathematical background to handle common calculations
• Willing to learn new skills and work as a team to meet deadlines
• Proficient knowledge in AutoCAD, preferably 2011
• Ability to follow instructions and the department’s drawing standard
• Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases at one time

Nice To Haves

• Electrical and Telecom/Networking industry experience
• 2 + years experience preparing CAD drawings
• Supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Ensures team performs a wide range of drafting tasks
