About The Position

As a Brewery Operations Intern, you will be part of our Early Talent Program, an undergraduate summer internship designed to expose students to the beverage industry. You will be engaged in real-world problem-solving and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns. The internship is a full-time summer position from May 3 - August 6 (Canada interns) and May 25 - August 6 (U.S. interns). Housing assistance is available to candidates who meet eligibility requirements. Applicants must be an undergraduate student (enrolled in undergraduate courses) during the summer internship to participate. Interns who successfully complete the program are considered for full-time positions upon graduation.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in brewing, food science, science (chemistry, biology, microbiology), or chemical engineering.
  • Love a challenge.
  • Complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with an understanding of business priorities.

  • For Packaging, Supply Chain, Distribution and Technical Services, pursuing a mechanical, electrical, industrial, packaging or related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on helping the brewery meet their overall goals through the implementation of successful projects.
  • Design, plan, organize, schedule, and lead projects, which may be focused around systems, process, and/or capital projects.
  • Apply project management principles and technical expertise to ensure projects are executed successfully to meet business objectives.
  • Serve as a resource to help support high-level technical issues within the Brewery.
  • Obtain a fundamental understanding of brewery operations with detailed knowledge of specific operations.
  • Build an understanding and demonstration of the basic steps to implement a highly successful project from start to finish.
  • Gain an understanding of your field in a manufacturing environment from an operational improvement and project management perspective.
  • Examples of projects include reducing extract losses, improving maintenance job plans, instrumentation quality improvement projects, and hygiene in the Brewing department.
