Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania (FHCCP), a private, not-for-profit organization coordinating public health grants across a 26-county region in central Pennsylvania, is hiring two part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselors to support its WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program. The positions primarily serve pregnant and breastfeeding clients at Tapestry of Health WIC offices in Bloomsburg, Shamokin, or Shamokin Dam. The primary office can be selected by the candidate from those three locations. The counselor provides basic breastfeeding information and support and helps clients prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems. Applicants should include their breastfeeding experience with their application; prior experience is required but the applicant does not need to be currently breastfeeding. Regular local travel within the region, primarily between Bloomsburg, Shamokin, and Shamokin Dam, is required. FHCCP describes itself as a safe, inclusive workplace and encourages applications from people from marginalized or underrepresented groups, women, individuals with disabilities, protected veterans, and all other qualified applicants. Employees and contractors are expected to support the organization's vision, mission, and values. Employment is conditional on completing required child-protection clearances and background checks, including the PA State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), FBI Criminal Record Check based on fingerprinting, and PA Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA).
