About The Position

The Breakout Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently removing parts from skeleton material, inspecting products for quality, and preparing finished parts for the next stage of production. This position requires the ability to read job packets and blueprints, operate air tools, inspect parts for defects, and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read job packets and blueprints.
  • Ability to operate air tools.
  • Ability to inspect parts for defects.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally maneuver through lifting, pushing or pulling greater than 75 pounds.
  • Ability to reach overhead and at or below shoulder level.
  • Ability to perform gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers.
  • Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or production experience preferred.
  • Experience in metal fabrication is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions and specifications outlined in job packets and work orders.
  • Remove skeleton material from manufactured parts using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Operate air tools and other assigned equipment safely and effectively.
  • Deburr parts and remove sharp edges or excess material as required.
  • Stack, organize, and tag completed parts according to company procedures.
  • Maintain production flow while meeting established productivity standards.
  • Inspect parts for defects, damage, or non-conforming characteristics.
  • Verify material thickness, contours, dimensions, and overall quality against specifications.
  • Identify and report quality concerns to supervisors or quality personnel.
  • Ensure completed parts meet customer and company quality requirements.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Handle materials safely and use proper lifting techniques.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or workplace hazards promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and coworkers to meet production goals.
  • Assist with other production-related duties as assigned.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the department.
