About The Position

Coursera and Udemy are becoming one company, and the Brand Strategy Manager will help define the combined company's next chapter by shaping its evolving brand strategy. The role owns core rebrand workstreams, develops original points of view, frameworks, and recommendations informed by research and cross-functional input, and presents and defends those recommendations. Reporting to the Senior Brand Strategy Lead, the manager works on a small, fast-moving team. Once the unified brand strategy is established, the role evolves to bring it to life for an assigned business segment, translating strategy into brand activation.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in brand strategy, brand marketing, or a closely related strategic role, in an agency or in-house.
  • Demonstrated experience turning research and ambiguous input into clear strategic recommendations rather than merely synthesizing or reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight in a lean team environment and structure one's own work.
  • Experience developing brand architecture, positioning, or messaging frameworks in B2B, B2C, or both.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and synthesize decision-ready materials.
  • Experience working with or managing external agencies.
  • Ability to operate in fast-moving, deadline-driven environments aligned with a fixed E-Team gate cadence.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience navigating a company merger, rebrand, or brand-architecture consolidation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned rebrand strategy workstreams, such as competitive and category analysis, brand architecture scenarios, positioning territories, and proof points; determine the necessary analysis and make recommendations.
  • Synthesize research, cross-functional input, and market data into strategic implications, distinguishing findings from interpretation and recommendations and identifying insufficient evidence.
  • Draft strategic deliverables, including sections of the brand strategy house, creative brief inputs, decision frameworks, and executive-facing materials.
  • Support and help facilitate workshops and decision sessions by developing exercises and prompts and synthesizing outputs into recommendations.
  • Support agency development by preparing strategic inputs, evaluating agency work against approved strategy, drafting feedback, and leading delegated agency discussions.
  • Own brand activation for an assigned business segment, translating finalized brand strategy into campaigns, messaging, and key moments.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Bonus and RSU equity programs
  • Global perks
