Brand Strategy Manager

Coursera•Mountain View, CA
•$113,050 - $143,000

About The Position

Coursera and Udemy are joining as one company and are evolving their brands into a unified identity. The Brand Strategy Manager will own strategic workstreams in that evolution, developing original perspectives, frameworks, and recommendations based on research and cross-functional input, and presenting and defending those recommendations. The role reports to the Senior Brand Strategy Lead and works within a small, fast-moving team. As the unified brand strategy is established, the manager will translate it into activation for an assigned business segment, shaping how the brand appears across campaigns, messaging, and key moments.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in brand strategy, brand marketing, or a closely related strategic role, in an agency or in-house.
  • Demonstrated experience turning research and ambiguous input into clear strategic recommendations, rather than only synthesis or reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight in a lean team environment and structure one’s own work.
  • Experience developing brand architecture, positioning, or messaging frameworks in B2B, B2C, or both.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and synthesize decision-ready materials.
  • Experience working with or managing external agencies.
  • Ability to work in fast-moving, deadline-driven environments aligned with a fixed E-Team gate cadence.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience navigating a company merger, rebrand, or brand-architecture consolidation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned rebrand strategy workstreams, such as competitive and category analysis, brand architecture scenarios, positioning territories, and proof points; define the necessary analysis and bring forward recommendations.
  • Synthesize research, cross-functional input, and market data into strategic implications; distinguish findings from interpretation and recommendations, and flag insufficient evidence.
  • Draft strategic deliverables, including parts of the brand strategy house, creative brief inputs, decision frameworks, and executive-facing materials.
  • Support and help facilitate workshops and decision sessions by developing exercises and prompts and synthesizing their output into usable recommendations.
  • Support agency development by preparing strategic inputs, evaluating agency work against approved strategy, drafting feedback, and leading delegated agency discussions.
  • Own brand activation for an assigned business segment, translating finalized brand strategy into campaigns, messaging, and key moments for that audience.

Benefits

  • Competitive, zone-based pay.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Bonus and RSU equity programs.
  • Global perks designed to support employee growth and wellbeing.
