About The Position

A multifaceted position responsible for the development of strategic sales and marketing plans that meet gross margin objectives; this position performs a pivotal role in the design direction, product development and merchandising of each Revman brand they represent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising/Marketing or related discipline is required
  • Minimum of five years of previous experience in a brand management, marketing or retail position
  • Minimum of four years of buying line exposure and understanding of retail cycles
  • Knowledge of competitive market is vital in order to determine future trends and needs in addition to identifying core product opportunities
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs to include Excel
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in PLM
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company
  • Possess strong organizational, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task on a routine basis, be detail-oriented, adapt plans and change direction as needed, have a proactive mindset and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the brands to include raising the perceived value of each brand they represent
  • Ensuring the brand meets the sales, pricing and margin goals of the company
  • Competitive pricing analysis by going into the market to gather information about competitors pricing of similar type brands and products as well as utilizing published third party research studies on price and making a presentation to upper management based on the findings
  • Taking a broad view of the competitive landscape to determine where Revman’s brands are positioned against competitors with respect to design, price and value
  • Creating a pricing structure formulation of “good-better-best” pricing for internal use
  • Completing margin analysis report for the VP of Merchandising and ensure all programs meet budgeted margin goals
  • Presenting all programs not meeting margin goals to VP of Merchandising to gain approval for the program before proceeding
  • Working with the operations team to reduce the Cost of Goods Sold which includes development expenses
  • Establishing and maintaining an OTB by product category for the brands they represent for each season’s assortment (Fall, Spring, Seasonal)
  • Establishing target pricing for product management team
  • Liaison between all international partners) and the organization/brands
  • Content Creation – creating innovative content to ensure optimal shopping experience online i.e. A+ detail pages
  • Reducing customer returns – analyzing reasons, working with organization to take corrective action
  • Developing and managing each season’s Merchandising Line Plan in teams
  • Managing showroom budget, the brand’s direction and showroom execution (ordering furniture, props, etc.)
  • Liaison with Brand on all approvals – product, photography, packaging, qualities, marketing
  • Packaging development for all tiers of business – work with packaging department on innovative packaging concepts to ensure success at retail
  • Creating and uploading copy for all product developed for ecommerce
  • Coordinating, approvals and completion of all photography and video while staying in budget
  • Conducting quarterly assortment meetings with sales, product managers, design and planning to review business trends
  • Conducting handoff meetings for design and PDA to ensure all developments flow properly
  • Monitoring retail successes/failures or wholesale sales by patterns on a weekly basis and providing an analysis (when product arrives at DC, loaded on sites, reviews, content) of the longevity and potential placement needs to the VP of Merchandising
  • Creating a bi-annual business plan to Senior Management to include a quantitative analysis of each brand (overall sales, sales by customer, beds designed versus beds placed, etc.), the competitive landscape, industry considerations, distribution review and pricing in order to formulate a 24-36 month plan
  • Working with various departments to ensure on time development of each brand to meet merchandising outline goals
  • Creating and maintaining development, sold products, transitions for both inline and international lifecycles in PLM including workflow creation, RFQ updates, certifications
  • Weekly meeting with the brand for all 3rd tier approvals, documenting the approvals and uploading all into the brands’ media box
  • Working with the Planning department to provide feedback and assistance in ensuring understanding of production minimums and costs related to less than minimums
  • Working with sales to ensure they understand product placements, product minimums, how they impact placement of a program and helping to strategize backdoor strategies if necessary to account for units beyond the need
  • Brand reporting as specified by each brand’s stipulation (i.e. sales, forecasts)
  • Managing packaging photography shoot, direction from the brand, providing direction to the studio and on the spot product approvals
  • Coordinating product/timing with each brand for their marketing Asset photo shoot by season
  • Working with the assigned brand on all packaging approvals (1st and 3rd tier)
  • Publishing a seasonal price list (market week) and updating Brand Current assortment (quarterly)
  • Monitoring the success of the assigned brand
  • Attending weekly line calendar
  • Attending internal bi-weekly meetings and monthly retail customer meetings as needed
