About The Position

This Brand Manager position is for the Controls Business Unit at Scotts Miracle-Gro, located at our Corporate Office in Marysville, Ohio. The Brand Manager will own a prestigious national brand, acting as the 'hub of the wheel' for their business unit. This role is responsible for delivering both top-line growth and profitability. Key activities include utilizing insights to create innovation, crafting marketing programs to drive awareness and conversion, and ensuring consumer focus in all initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in brand management of escalating responsibility, or other relevant experience.
  • Understand modern brand building in a fast-paced CPG environment.
  • Experience balancing competing priorities.
  • Experience quickly translating insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L management.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team (Sales, Supply Chain, R&D, etc.).
  • Strong influencing skills to manage vertically and horizontally throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated relentless bias for action and owner’s mentality.
  • An enterprise mindset – ability to understand how work fits into and enhances broader company objectives.
  • Curiosity and a drive to challenge the status quo.
  • Outstanding storytelling ability – ability to quickly and succinctly distill complex data.
  • MBA is preferred, but not required.
