Brand Experience Designer, Consumer

Toast
•$149,000 - $304,000

About The Position

Toast is hiring a Brand Experience Designer to define and build its consumer-facing brand as Toast expands into the B2C market. The designer will shape how the Consumer brand looks, sounds, and behaves across product and marketing, helping establish a distinct, trusted identity for diners. The role will help determine how the Consumer brand relates to the Toast Core brand while honoring what makes Toast trusted by restaurants and creating an experience made for guests. The designer will join a small Consumer Design team that operates with startup-like autonomy within Toast and report to the Consumer Product Design leader. They will collaborate closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and marketing and growth partners. The role includes ownership of the Consumer brand system and its expressive layer in the product design system, including type, color, motion, and illustration. The work spans in-product experiences, marketing and growth, and physical restaurant touchpoints such as POS devices, handhelds, kiosks, receipts, and host stands. The designer will lead creative direction while remaining hands-on, taking concepts from sketches through shipped, pixel-perfect execution. Toast encourages thoughtful use of AI to explore creative directions, test variations, and design less prominent brand surfaces while recognizing where AI is not useful.
