About The Position

Scale AI is hiring a Web Designer for its nine-person, full-time Interactive Brand Studio, which oversees Scale’s visual identity and brand strategy, scale.com design and development, and original creative content. The role reports to the Manager of Web Experience and focuses primarily on designing responsive, visually compelling experiences for scale.com and other digital properties. The designer will create page layouts, templates, graphics, interactive UI patterns, reusable components, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. They will work closely with web engineers and cross-functional partners to translate business objectives, brand direction, and user needs into accessible, usable, high-performing designs and ensure their implementation meets quality standards. The role also involves evolving Scale’s visual identity, exploring AI-powered tools and new interaction patterns, and iterating on web experiences based on stakeholder feedback and design effectiveness.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in web design, digital design, visual design, or a related field.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft, web design expertise, and shipped digital experiences.
• Proficiency in Figma for design systems, component libraries, prototyping, and developer handoff.
• Understanding of responsive design, typography, layout systems, accessibility, interaction design, and modern web UI/UX principles.
• Ability to design within technical constraints while maintaining quality.
• Understanding of how designs translate into production websites and working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Ability to create scalable design patterns and reusable components that maintain consistency across complex websites and content types.
• Excitement about emerging AI tools and willingness to experiment with tools and bring ideas to the team.
• Ability to balance speed and craft, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment.
• Clear communication, receptiveness to constructive feedback, proactive problem-solving, and ability to work effectively with design, engineering, marketing, and brand partners.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, AEM, or Canva tools.
• Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks, component-based architectures, and CMS platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing motion graphics, animations, and micro-interactions for digital experiences.
• Familiarity with modern web development workflows and frameworks such as React and Next.js, and deployment platforms such as Vercel.
• Experience with headless CMS platforms, particularly Sanity, and designing flexible, modular page templates.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design, prototyping, and vibe-coding tools for rapidly exploring and building interactive web experiences.
• Experience using web analytics, experimentation, or user research to inform design decisions and improve user journeys.
• Experience creating data visualizations, technical graphics, or complex information experiences.
• Interest in the AI industry and understanding of Scale’s mission and products.

Responsibilities

• Design responsive website layouts, page templates, graphics, and interactive UI patterns across Scale’s digital properties, primarily scale.com.
• Create reusable components, patterns, and systems that support consistency and efficient delivery across web experiences.
• Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups based on business objectives, brand direction, and user needs.
• Partner with web engineers to communicate design intent, prepare implementation-ready specifications, review builds, and ensure high-quality execution.
• Apply responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web performance best practices across devices and screen sizes.
• Champion Scale’s visual identity while exploring design directions that reflect the company’s growth and position in the AI industry.
• Explore AI-powered design and development tools, rapid prototyping, and new interaction patterns.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate feedback, evaluate design effectiveness, and improve web experiences.
