About The Position
As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and connect with walk-in customers using guidance, product knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, build customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. The role involves moving between customer assistance and warehouse tasks throughout the day. This position reports to the Branch Manager and requires passing a military background check.
Requirements
- Pass a military background check.
- Be flexible to work any time within the branch's hours of operation.
- Safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
- Learn and operate powered industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking products, and safely loading customer vehicles.
- Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
- Adapt communication to different audiences through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products.
- Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock.
- Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Learn and navigate computer systems used for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
- Perform housekeeping to ensure the branch meets Grainger standards.
- Follow safety guidelines and process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
