About The Position

This role is responsible for the direct management of Account Team staff. This includes assigning tasks, managing workflows, monitoring and improving staff performance, scheduling, human resource management, staffing, training, staff development, staff communication and support, process, policy, and procedure compliance, and modeling core values. The position can be hybrid with 1-2 days in the office in Columbia, SC, or fully remote for candidates in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. A key requirement is an active property & casualty license, as 20% of the role involves managing a generalist book of business. Remote work requires a dedicated, distraction-free workspace and is not a substitute for personal responsibilities during working hours.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience with deep, wide-ranging industry knowledge
  • 3+ years of team lead / leadership experience
  • All required active property & casualty licensing
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Nice To Haves

  • CISR or CIC designation or equivalent preferred
  • Outstanding communication and people management skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage Account Management staff, monitor performance, and provide coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with HR processes and policies.
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency, quality, and service standards.
  • Manage staff days off calendars for service continuity.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and recommend adjustments.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations.
  • Provide coaching, consultation, and training.
  • Encourage growth and development of personnel.
  • Develop future branch operations leaders.
  • Promote IOA culture and improve engagement.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and interpret performance data.
  • Maintain transparent communication with leadership.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with core work processes.
  • Implement and enforce company policies.
  • Maintain high technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Continuously improve management and leadership skills.
  • Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with IOA leadership, peers, co-workers, and employees.
