About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced, people-focused leader for a Branch Manager career within its National Branch Network. The Branch Manager serves as the branch’s sales leader, accountable for acquiring, deepening, and retaining customer relationships and driving growth in primary checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments. The role leads and develops a team through disciplined execution, coaching, and performance management while fostering an engaged, accountable culture focused on understanding customers’ financial needs and recommending appropriate Wells Fargo solutions. The Branch Manager balances growth objectives with operational risk management to protect customers, employees, and the company. Onboarding begins with the Branch Manager Readiness Program, which provides guidance, mentorship, job shadowing, hands-on experience, and practical learning in day-to-day branch operations. Successful completion is required to transition into a Branch Manager position. During training, the position is an interim, nonexempt role. Branch assignment depends on business need and branch availability at the time of placement. Employees already serving as Wells Fargo Branch Managers are not required to complete the program. The role is associated with the Salt Lake East District and may be assigned to one of the listed Salt Lake City or Murray, Utah branches, subject to availability. The schedule must include Saturdays, and travel within the assigned geography may be required up to 50% of the time during the first six months and before or until placement in a specific branch. SAFE registration is required at employment; Wells Fargo will initiate the process after the start date. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Loan originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including standards regarding financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background. A credit report may be reviewed, excluding credit score, and additional ongoing screening may apply.

Requirements

5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these.
2+ years of leadership experience.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
SAFE registration required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after the start date.
Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies, including standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background.

Responsibilities

Provide inclusive leadership, establish clear expectations, and hire, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
Manage team performance through targeted coaching to deliver sales, service, and operational excellence.
Lead the branch team in identifying customer financial needs and providing tailored consumer and business solutions.
Use branch manager routines, observation, feedback, and follow-up to improve individual capability, confidence, and productivity, while holding the team accountable for behaviors and outcomes.
Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners to provide coordinated customer experiences and deepen relationships.
Educate customers about and demonstrate available digital banking options.
Use reporting and employee observations to identify strengths and opportunities, create or execute actions to improve performance, and expand primary bank relationships and wallet share.
Balance growth, operational soundness, and talent decisions; proactively manage risk, resolve issues, and model protective behaviors.
Support Wells Fargo risk and compliance programs by following applicable policies and procedures, fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, escalating and remediating issues, and making sound risk decisions.
