About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Brake/Tire Specialist to maintain its fleet of trucks and trailers, including Ford and GMC vehicles. The role uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles. U-Haul provides tools, on-the-job training, and a Technician Training Program featuring Ford, GMC, and U-Haul classes, with opportunities for career growth. The work includes securing vehicles on lifts and ramps, performing tire and brake maintenance, mounting, dismounting, and balancing tires, and occasionally road testing vehicles. Team members may also be asked to assist in other areas as needed under supervisor direction. The work involves manual labor and requires working safely and staying alert.

Requirements

Basic mechanical aptitude.
Driver’s license.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually.
Basic computer skills.
Regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Mount, dismount, and balance tires.
Occasionally road test vehicles.
Work in a production line.
Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
Lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of a supervisor.
