About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Brake/Tire Specialist to maintain its fleet of Ford and GMC trucks and other field vehicles. The technician will use U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess vehicles and perform brake and tire maintenance. U-Haul provides the tools needed for the job, along with support and opportunities to develop through its Technician Training Program, including Ford, GMC, and U-Haul training. The role is suitable for applicants seeking an entry into the industry as well as those with vehicle-repair experience. A paid, hands-on working interview is available, and the posting advertises a $100 hiring bonus. The position involves manual labor and requires working safely and remaining alert. Protective clothing or equipment, such as masks, safety shoes, goggles, gloves, or face shields, may be needed. Requirements

Basic mechanical aptitude.
Driver’s license.
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Basic computer skills.

Must be willing and able to perform manual labor safely and remain alert.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Mount, dismount, and balance tires.
Occasionally road test vehicles.
Work in a production line.
Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
Assist in additional areas as necessary, following the supervisor’s directives and guidance.
