About The Position
The Brake Press Operator is responsible for operating brake press machines to bend, shape, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a metal fabrication environment. This position will have experience with blueprints, precision measuring tools, and CNC or manual brake press equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in brake press operations.
- Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions)
- Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper)
- Must possess mechanical aptitude
- Must possess basic ability in reading forming blueprints.
- Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications

Responsibilities
- Operates brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components.
- Produces simple to medium level of complexity of parts.
- Coordinates with team on transporting finished parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machine settings and part specifications.
- Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to maintain quality control.
- Perform rework tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following safety procedures and using proper protective equipment.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance and report machine malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.
- Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.
