About The Position

Box Scalers weigh beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products and ensure boxes and packages are labeled correctly for stock or customer orders. The role is based in College Park, Georgia, and is scheduled Monday through Friday on the second shift, starting at 2 p.m. and continuing until finish. Starting pay is $18 per hour.

The position follows standardized packing specifications and customer-specific instructions, performs quality checks, and inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes. Box Scalers may work independently or as part of a team and must follow food safety and occupational safety guidelines. Warehouse employees must also be able to perceive auditory warning signals related to equipment and other workplace risks.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established policies and procedures.
• Ability to immediately perceive auditory warning signals, including bells, alarms, and horns, used to warn of equipment movement, start-up, mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations.
• Working knowledge of production equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow food safety and occupational safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and label boxes and packages accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow company standardized pack specifications and customer-specific deviations communicated through work orders or cut tickets.
• Read and understand customer-specific special instructions.
• Perform quality control checks and communicate defects to supervisors and managers.
• Inspect meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
• Offer assistance to other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
