About The Position

The Box Office Coordinator is a seasonal member of Outfest’s Box Office Team, supporting the Box Office Manager with day-to-day operations leading up to and during Outfest NEXT (July 23 - 26, 2026). This role assists with ticketing, reporting, customer service, and logistics across festival venues and vendors in Los Angeles. The position is remote-hybrid, with in-person staff meetings and full on-site presence required during the event dates.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in box office operations, customer service, or public events.
  • Familiarity with ticketing/sales platforms (experience with Elevent a plus).
  • Strong customer service skills; able to resolve issues calmly and efficiently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive; database experience a plus.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to multi-task under deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with initiative and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to Outfest’s mission and an understanding of its programs and their role in the broader LGBTQ movement.

  • Experience supporting staff or volunteers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and daily management of the event ticketing system (Elevent), including scheduling, ticket inventory, and troubleshooting.
  • Process and fulfill ticketing requests for filmmakers, sponsors, members, community partners, and guests.
  • Generate and distribute admissions and membership sales reports as directed by the Box Office Manager.
  • Maintain program and film updates in the ticketing system.
  • Contribute to final wrap reporting at the conclusion of the event.
  • Support the Box Office Manager in planning and coordinating logistics, including equipment, ticket stock, and supplies.
  • Work with Theater Operations to share daily ticketing and program updates with event staff.
  • Provide guidance and support to Box Office Agents and volunteers during shifts, escalating issues to the Manager as needed.
  • Help train agents and volunteers in ticketing procedures, phone protocols, reporting, and customer service.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the schedule for agents and volunteers.
  • Serve as the primary phone/online sales agent early in the season to learn the ticketing system and train others.
  • Respond to ticket buyer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person at the Box Office.
  • Maintain a presence at the Box Office to assist with customer needs and ensure a positive experience.
  • Support communication with audiences regarding program or ticketing changes in coordination with the Manager and Marketing team.
  • Assist the Development team in implementing ticketing processes for members.
