About The Position

BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) helps improve the customer shopping experience by using inventory from retail locations to find the right products for customers. The BOSS Fulfillment Outfitter must be familiar with the products sold and is responsible for filling BOSS orders, sorting, picking, packing, and loading merchandise for shipment to direct customers and retail stores as needed. Merchandise must be handled to maintain its quality and appearance for customers.

The role performs multiple back-room functions, including receiving and inspecting merchandise, filling orders, and sorting and packing products in appropriately sized shipping containers. The employee may spend most of their time in one area but must be able to work across multiple functions as needed. The position also includes helping customers on the sales floor during store hours and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Ability to follow through on order processing, including properly closing orders in the BOSS system.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to read label descriptions and stock merchandise by UPC codes.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Able to operate receiving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect merchandise; fill orders; sort and pack merchandise in appropriate packaging for shipment to customers as needed.
• Sort merchandise into order groupings and pack it using suitable containers or cartons; apply designated labels and visually inspect product quality and presentation.
• Fill retail and direct customer orders by inspecting merchandise, matching it to orders, and pulling items from designated stock locations into appropriate containers.
• Move merchandise among warehouse locations using authorized material-handling equipment or manually load and unload trailers.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness and follow safe-work-environment procedures.
• Attend mandatory training and in-services, including new employee orientation, safety training, and job-skills training.
• Assist customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions while working on the sales floor during store hours.
• Communicate issues or needs affecting job execution, including short picks, out-of-stocks, on-hand counts, and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Process orders through to properly closing them in the BOSS system.
