BOSS Fulfillment Associate - Seasonal
About The Position
The BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) process helps improve the shopping experience by using inventory across retail locations to find products for customers. The BOSS Fulfillment Associate fills BOSS orders and handles, sorts, picks, packs, and loads merchandise for shipment to direct customers and retail stores, ensuring merchandise quality and presentation are maintained. The role performs various back-room retail store functions and may focus on one area while remaining able to work across multiple functions as needed. During store hours, the associate may also assist customers on the sales floor. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to procedures, policies, and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 0–2 years of experience.
- Ability to follow through on order processing, including properly closing orders in the BOSS system.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to read label descriptions and stock merchandise by UPC codes.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Able to operate receiving equipment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect merchandise, fill orders, and sort and pack items in appropriate packaging for shipment.
- Sort merchandise into order groupings and pack items using suitable containers, cartons, or packaging; apply labels and inspect product quality and presentation.
- Fill retail and direct customer orders by matching inspected merchandise to orders and pulling products from designated stock locations.
- Move merchandise among warehouse locations using authorized material-handling equipment or manually load and unload trailers.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness and follow safe-work procedures.
- Attend mandatory training and in-services, including orientation, safety, and job-skills training.
- Assist customers with finding merchandise and making buying decisions when working on the sales floor during store hours.
- Communicate issues or needs affecting job execution, including short picks, out-of-stocks, on-hand counts, and supplies.
- Follow order processing through proper closure in the BOSS system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
