About The Position

Trackin Assets is a business and accounting services company providing bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and consulting services to small and midsize companies. While we serve clients across a variety of industries, Trackin Assets, working alongside its sister company Motor Carrier HQ, has developed specialized experience working with trucking and transportation companies and addressing the industry's unique accounting needs. Trackin Assets, along with Motor Carrier HQ, are headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT. The Bookkeeper I position is Trackin Assets’ first-level bookkeeping position, responsible for performing routine bookkeeping and maintaining client accounts in QuickBooks Online using established Trackin Assets procedures. This position works remotely under the guidance and review of experienced team members while developing proficiency in bookkeeping, accounting fundamentals, QuickBooks Online, and client service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or business preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and willingness to learn; QuickBooks Online or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment while following established procedures and taking initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with clients and team members.
  • Proficient with computers, spreadsheets, cloud-based software, email, and remote-work technology; dependable and able to maintain confidential client information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine bookkeeping and maintain assigned client accounts in QuickBooks Online.
  • Record, review, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions across bank, credit card, loan, and other accounts.
  • Identify and resolve routine bookkeeping issues, escalating complex items as needed.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation, organized client records, and prepare books for review and month-end close.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to obtain information, answer routine bookkeeping questions, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Complete work accurately and on time while participating in training and applying feedback to improve knowledge and efficiency.
