About The Position

This position is responsible for the regular and efficient circulation of children’s books in the store through effective purchasing, pricing, and stocking of merchandise. The role also involves leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance. All job duties are performed with a customer-service mindset while working within company policy and procedures.

Requirements

Exceptional customer service skills.
Children's book knowledge, both classic and contemporary.
Open availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Ability to work 5 shifts per week.

Responsibilities

Purchasing, pricing, and stocking of children's books.
Leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere.
Providing exceptional customer assistance.
Sorting and organizing incoming merchandise.
Pricing incoming books.
Stocking books to shelves.
Maintaining pricing consistency.
Maintaining alpha/presentation on shelves.
Maintaining knowledge of current stock on hand.
Maintaining a neat and organized sales floor area as well as back of house area.
Evaluating books (and other merchandise) for purchase at incoming counter.
Explaining and negotiating deals with customers.
Maintaining knowledge of current market trends.
Performing other duties as assigned by management.
