About The Position

Join Siddons-Martin Emergency Group’s Service Division as a Body Technician Helper, supporting senior technicians with mechanical and bodywork tasks during vehicle restoration, particularly for emergency response vehicles. The role includes assisting with disassembly, surface preparation, body-panel reinstallation, and light mechanical repairs. It offers an opportunity to build a career in specialty automotive repair.

The Service Division operates across 27 U.S. locations and provides repair, maintenance, and collision services for emergency vehicles, including brake service and engine overhauls. Technicians work with tools and ongoing training to restore vehicles, from minor dent repairs to full refurbishments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of vehicle body repair and basic mechanical skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Three to five years of body shop experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Formal training and/or trade school training.
• Experience with wet sanding or buffing.
• Experience with emergency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle disassembly and reassembly tasks with minimal supervision.
• Support mechanical work, including removing and replacing lights, bumpers, interior panels, mirrors, and similar components.
• Prepare panels for paint work and blending by sanding, grinding, or cleaning surfaces.
• Help align and install replacement body panels and parts.
• Perform electrical repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and company protocols.
• Assist with documenting job progress and tracking parts.
