About The Position

Fox Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is looking for a Body Shop Estimator in Grand Rapids, MI! As a Body Shop Estimator, you assess vehicle damage and produce accurate repair estimates for insurance claims and customer-pay work. This role exists to set clear expectations on cost, parts, and repair approach so repairs move forward smoothly.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and related estimating or collision experience (or equivalent combination)
• Ability to write clear, detailed estimates and communicate them professionally
• I-CAR Certificate of Advanced Training
• State Vehicle Inspector Certification

Responsibilities

• Inspecting structural, body, mechanical, and interior damage
• Estimating labor, parts, and refinish costs
• Advising repair vs. replace decisions
• Reviewing estimates with the body shop manager/foreman
• Evaluating total-loss practicality and salvage value
• Completing required insurance documentation
• Checking the repair schedule and prioritizing vehicles waiting on approvals
• Walking vehicles, taking notes and photos, then building clean documentation
• Coordinating quick check-ins with the manager/foreman
• Answering questions from insurers and customers
• Updating files as supplements come in
• Making sure open estimates are complete, organized, and ready for the next handoff
