About The Position

Hertrich Family of Dealerships is seeking a skilled and motivated Body Shop Assistant Manager to join its growing team. The role supports collision center operations in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service. The position involves customer interactions, vehicle damage assessments and repair estimates, relationships with insurance companies and other providers, and assisting with shop workflow and production costs. The assistant manager collaborates with the General Manager and supports employees as needed.

Requirements

• Prior automotive body shop estimating or insurance adjusting experience is required.
• Strong understanding of the collision repair process.
• Ability to handle high volumes and work under pressure.
• Experience maintaining a fast-paced workflow in a collision shop.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience in a Collision Center or Auto Body Shop (listed as preferred).
• Proficiency with collision management software (listed as preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally and courteously.
• Build and maintain relationships with insurance companies, fleet providers, and manufacturers.
• Assess vehicle damage and create detailed repair cost estimates.
• Prepare accurate damage reports efficiently.
• Assist in managing shop production costs and workflow.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on daily tasks and dispatches using computerized systems.
• Provide support and assistance to employees as needed.
