About The Position

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Mentors junior employees. We are seeking an experienced Extended Handler Bodily Injury Adjuster with a strong background managing attorney represented bodily injury claims. This role supports claims across Northeastern states and is responsible for handling a range of injury exposures, from soft injury claims to fracture claims. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating and negotiating manual injury values, as well as conducting coverage investigations. Given our non-standard book of business, many claims involve complex liability and coverage issues, making strong analytical and investigative skills essential for the role. We are open to candidates in the Eastern time zone states.

Requirements

  • Strong background managing attorney represented bodily injury claims
  • Experience evaluating and negotiating manual injury values
  • Experience conducting coverage investigations
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills

Responsibilities

  • Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases
  • Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
  • Handles investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authority
  • For claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims
  • Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding other potential property damage
  • Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
