Boca By Design Supervisor
About The Position
The Boca By Design Supervisor oversees daily floral shop operations and staff, supports the floral shop manager, and helps deliver client appointments, samples, events, floral designs, and plant services. The role requires extensive floral product and design knowledge, including the ability to create original designs, reproduce arrangements in quantity, order floral products, and coordinate floral production. The supervisor also supports sales and client service, oversees off-property plant contracts, and assists with event planning, setup, installation, delivery, and cleanup. A flexible schedule is required.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in a volume floral shop or event company in a supervisory role.
- Total knowledge of floral products and quality floral design.
- Ability to create original designs and copy and mass-produce arrangements in quantity.
- Experience ordering florals and managing floral production.
- Experience with plant installation and plant care.
- Experience supervising a floral shop and floral associates.
- Ability to read and understand written proposals.
- Ability to work effectively within a diversified, creative group.
- Experience handling client appointments, samples, and sites.
- Good phone and sales abilities.
- Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, or bend for the duration of a shift of at least eight hours.
- Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds.
- Comfort driving a box truck and van.
- Flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Work with a diversified, creative team to ensure client satisfaction.
- Assist the floral shop manager with client appointments, samples, site visits, and efforts to attract new business and clients.
- Create and install floral and décor products.
- Develop working knowledge of all properties serviced by Boca By Design.
- Answer phones, take orders, and develop phone and sales abilities.
- Oversee off-property plant contracts and provide plant care and maintenance at clients’ residences.
- Prepare floral containers; design and lead mass production of arrangements with floral staff; and produce daily vases and other arrangements at the manager’s request.
- Report damaged or missing items and help maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist production staff with event setups when instructed by the floral manager.
- Clean the floor and prepare the floral department after the workday.
- Assist with table linens, chair covers, sashes, and fabric installations when requested by the floral manager.
- Assist with event planning, samples, and upselling.
- Perform ordering duties when requested by the floral manager.
- Drive a van or truck to deliver and set up events; supervise setups and installations and check load sheets against items before transport.
- Attend monthly employee meetings and oversee team duties daily.
- Travel to Miami to retrieve floral orders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors or managers.
- Oversee the flower shop during the manager’s absence.
