About The Position

The Boca By Design Supervisor oversees floral shop production and staff, supports the floral shop manager, and helps ensure client satisfaction. The role requires extensive floral product knowledge and the ability to create original designs, reproduce arrangements in quantity, order floral products, and support floral production. It also includes plant installation and care, client appointments and samples, sales, event planning, and supervision of setups and installations. The supervisor may oversee the Flower Shop during the manager’s absence and must have a flexible schedule. The position works with a diversified, creative team and has regular contact with vendors, clients, guests, resort managers and employees, and Boca By Design associates. Duties include driving a van or truck to deliver and set up events, checking setup loads, caring for plants at client residences, and assisting with event installations. The role requires the ability to sit, stand, stoop, or bend for at least eight hours, and to lift and carry items weighing up to 50+ pounds. Requirements

At least five years of experience in a volume floral shop or event company in a supervisory role.
Total knowledge of floral products and quality floral design.
Ability to create original designs and copy and mass-produce arrangements in quantity.
Experience ordering florals and managing floral production.
Experience with plant installation and plant care.
Experience supervising a floral shop and floral associates.
Ability to read and understand written proposals.
Ability to handle client appointments, samples, and site visits.
Good phone and sales abilities.
Fluent in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English.
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, or bend for the duration of a shift of at least eight hours.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds; the physical requirements also describe frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Comfort driving a box truck and van.
Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with a diversified, creative group to ensure client satisfaction.
Support the floral shop manager by handling client appointments, samples, site visits, and opportunities to attract new business and clients.
Create and install floral and décor products; design and lead mass production of floral arrangements.
Develop working knowledge of all properties serviced by Boca By Design.
Oversee off-property plant contracts and care for and maintain plants in clients’ residences.
Answer the phone, take orders, and use sales abilities to assist clients and support up-selling.
Set up and prepare floral containers; produce daily vases and other arrangements at the floral manager’s request.
Supervise floral staff and oversee daily team duties, setups, and installations.
Cross-check load sheets against items before transporting them.
Report damaged and missing items and help maintain a safe working environment.
Assist production staff with event setups when instructed by the floral manager.
Clean the floor and prepare the floral department after the workday.
Assist with installing table linen, chair covers, sashes, and fabric when requested by the manager.
Assist with event planning and samples, and perform ordering duties at the floral manager’s request.
Drive a van or truck to deliver and set up events; make trips to Miami to retrieve floral orders as needed.
Attend monthly employee meetings.
Oversee the Flower Shop during the manager’s absence.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors or managers.
