About The Position
VCA East Anchorage Animal Hospital has a part time position available for a Boarding Kennel technician to join our team. Prior experience is a plus, but not required. The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clientele and the highest quality care to their boarded and hospitalized pets.
Requirements
- Patient, with genuine compassion, concern, and respect for animals.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Be able to communicate clearly with clients.
- Be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Be physically capable to work on your feet, and able to bend.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Must be 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience is a plus
- Previous animal handling experience and knowledge is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- General care for the dogs and cats, including feeding, watering, medicating, exercising, baths, nail trims.
- Cleaning and disinfecting boarding runs and other areas of the boarding and hospital areas and laundry.
- Taking charge to make sure all tasks get completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Other miscellaneous duties to keep the facility working smoothly and the dogs and cats calm, happy & safe.
- Assisting doctors and technicians when necessary.
