About The Position

Maple Hills Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Kennel and Daycare Attendant to help provide a safe, enjoyable environment for dogs in daycare and boarding. The role involves supervising playgroups, caring for boarding pets, supporting grooming tasks, maintaining clean facilities, and helping pet owners have a positive experience. The position is based at a veterinary hospital, where the attendant will work alongside a veterinary team and have opportunities for professional development and continuing education.

The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with fill-in shifts and weekends as needed. Compensation is negotiable and based on experience. Responsibilities may vary according to hospital needs and the employee’s experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned duties.

Requirements

• Previous professional experience working with pets.
• Knowledge of basic dog behavior and canine body language.
• Confidence handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina for bending and standing for long periods.
• Ability to lift an unspecified weight with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor dogs’ behavior and interactions in daycare.
• Maintain a clean and secure environment to keep pets safe.
• Feed pets and administer medications according to their individual needs.
• Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and other facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of feeding schedules, medications, and behavior observations.
• Provide excellent customer service to help ensure pet owners have a positive experience.
