Board Certified Psychiatrist (M.D, D.O.) Washington L&I IME
About The Position
Dane Street is expanding its physician panel and is seeking Washington-licensed physician advisors to support L&I Independent Medical Exams. This role involves conducting in-person Independent Medical Exams (IMEs) at various clinic locations. The position offers non-traditional work and supplemental income. Physician reviewers are independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis. No-show and late cancellation fees are in place to protect the physician's time. Dane Street handles all referral processes, scheduling, case preparation, medical record preparation, transcription services, client communications, and ensures the quality and timeliness of reports.
Requirements
- Board certified in Psychiatry.
- Must be in active practice.
- A Washington medical license is required.
- Active practice is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with medical necessity and utilization review/management.
Responsibilities
- Reviews medical records.
- Performs a physical exam of the patient.
- Addresses clinical questions regarding the patient's diagnosis and care.
- Accepts cases on a contract basis as individual schedule permits.
- Completes a report addressing each question and clinical concern utilizing AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Sixth Edition.
- Provides a report promptly, post exam.
- Returns cases on or before the due date and time specified.
- Completes peer-to-peer calls/call attempts as required based on client-specific protocol.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including addressing any necessary clarification, providing addenda as required (with additional compensation), identifying and responding to potential quality assurance issues, complaints, and regulatory issues.
