About The Position

Newell Brands is seeking a Blow Mold Operator for the 3rd shift at their Wichita, KS location. This role is responsible for operating various Blowmolding machines to produce cases, lids, and wheels according to production specifications. Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred or combination of related experience plus education.
  • Requires the use of simple arithmetic, calculator and weight scale.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a weekend schedule and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operates various Blowmolding machines for the production of cases, lids and wheels within defined production specifications.
  • Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands’ Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.
  • Drives success through the Company’s Planning, Engagement, Awareness and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.
  • Upholds the Newell Brands Values and the Code of Conduct.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation to comply with Newell Brands’ Housekeeping standards.
  • Performs a variety of tasks to produce various pieces by blowmolding.
  • Confirms and signs Blowmold Safety buyoff prior to operating machine.
  • Initiates cycle start and removes part with excess plastic from mold, via conveyor, parts picker or manually, after machine control device opens mold.
  • Separates and/or trims excess material from parts or purged material.
  • Flame parts.
  • Maintains cycle time standard to meet production requirements.
  • Stacks parts into racks or palletainers, moving or adjusting rack/pallatianer as required.
  • Tracks good/bad parts produced.
  • Regrinds excess plastic and unsatisfactory parts for reuse using a grinder.
  • Weighs parts hourly and continuously inspects for Critical to Quality (CTQ) elements.
  • Utilizes 5S methods to maintain a clean work environment and follows Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Uses hand and portable tools including a knife, deburr tool and/or scraper blade.
  • Uses cleaning tools such as brooms.
  • Responsible for the quality of own work.
  • Responsible for notifying lead/supervisor with machine issues and material shortages.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times and in compliance with site Safety Policies.
  • Complies with all Coleman policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work a weekend schedule and overtime as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required including but not limited to training for these processes.

Benefits

  • Pay: $17.00/hr + $2/hr shift differential
