About The Position

This role requires good communication skills to interact with employees on all levels. The specialist will have direct supervision of employees involved in pre-analytical and analytical test performance. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality of technical performance in their particular specialty through teaching, quality control, instrument maintenance, and inventory control. The role also involves performing technical competency/verification of training assessment for each staff member, conducting performance evaluations with feedback to keep employees on targeted goals, and utilizing basic management skills in daily operations.

Requirements

• Good communication skills to interact with employees on all levels.
• B.S. Degree and Med Tech Internship.
• At least 4 years of experience as ASCP/MLS registered medical technologist.
• One year in area of technical expertise.
• American Society of Clinical Pathologists, National Certification- MT(ASCP)/MLS.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of employees involved in pre-analytical and analytical test performance.
• Ensuring, through teaching, quality control, instrument maintenance, and inventory control, that the quality of technical performance in their particular specialty is maintained at a consistently high level at all times.
• Performs technical competency/verification of training assessment for each staff member.
• Perform performance evaluations along with feedback during year to keep employees on targeted goals.
• Utilize basic management skills in daily operations and practiced.
