About The Position

Basalite Building Products, LLC is hiring a Block Plant Laborer to support its concrete masonry products manufacturing operation. Under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent, the employee hand-stacks blocks, hand-batches cement or color, and supports the company’s Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success. The role also includes other related duties as assigned. This is a regular, full-time position with an hourly wage of $18.00–$19.00, depending on qualifications and experience. Requirements

Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
Ability to read a tape measure.
On-the-job training experience required to perform the duties.
Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment required for the job.
Predictable and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

Stack blocks by hand.
Assist the machine operator as needed.
Communicate issues to the supervisor.
Check blocks for defects or contamination and identify poor-quality blocks and bad splits.
Hand-batch cement color and check it for quality.
Keep the plant clean.
Operate a forklift and other equipment required to perform the job.
Attend safety meetings and follow company and governmental safety rules; report and help correct hazardous conditions.
Maintain predictable and regular attendance.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company or its designated representatives.
