About The Position

The Blender performs activities to mix and pre-form materials used in subsequent thread seal tape processes. The role weighs and measures PTFE resins, pigments, and lubricants; blends them for extrusion; operates preforming equipment to create billets; and sets up and operates assigned extrusion equipment. The Blender also stages and relocates materials, monitors product quality, records material use, weighs and tags finished jumbo rolls, and maintains equipment, tools, and work areas. The position includes identifying and segregating non-conforming materials or products and reporting discrepancies to leaders.

Requirements

Accredited high school diploma or GED.
Ability to handle objects, tools, or controls with the hands.
Ability to reach overhead and work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds throughout the workday.
Ability to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Commitment to effective customer service delivery and ability to work productively as part of a team or work group.

Responsibilities

Weigh and measure PTFE resins, pigments, and lubricants according to internal procedures, and blend them for thread seal extrusion processes.
Operate preforming equipment to form billets for extrusion lines.
Relocate resin drums from receiving areas to cold storage and production areas.
Maintain accurate daily records of raw materials and supplies used in pre-forming and blending.
Inspect assigned equipment to verify it is in good operating condition.
Clean equipment and tools used in mixing, pre-forming, and extrusion activities.
Set up and operate assigned extrusion equipment according to internal procedures.
Locate required materials, lay out tooling and dies, and load and extrude products continuously.
Unload, weigh, and tag finished jumbo rolls.
Use gauges, calipers, and micrometers to ensure products meet specifications.
Maintain assigned extrusion equipment in good operating condition and keep aisles and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records.
Identify non-conforming products or components, including PTFE resins, pigments, lubricants, and mixtures, and move them to a segregation area for quarantine.
Stage materials for extrusion to ensure material identification.
Report discrepancies to leaders to help ensure that only quality products are produced.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
