About The Position
The Chemical Blender works in a chemical processing facility and is responsible for accurately blending, mixing, and handling chemicals used in production. The role requires interpreting batch instructions and material safety data sheets (MSDS), following safety protocols and PPE requirements, and maintaining quality and compliance. The Chemical Blender works collaboratively with the production team and remains alert and safety-focused throughout blending operations. The position is performed in a production environment with exposure to chemicals and varying temperatures. It involves physical activity, including climbing ladders, lifting hoses, and maneuvering drums or containers. Required PPE includes respirators, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Basic understanding of chemical handling, mixing procedures, and industrial safety practices.
- Ability to follow written instructions and technical documents, including batch sheets and MSDS.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and handle containers of liquid chemicals.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, lifting hoses, and maneuvering drums or containers.

- Previous experience in chemical blending, production, or a similar manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Measure, weigh, and blend raw liquid chemicals according to batch sheets and production formulas.
- Operate pumps, mixers, and other blending equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret MSDS to understand chemical properties and handling procedures.
- Draft and review job safety analyses (JSAs) to identify hazards associated with blending operations and implement proper safety measures.
- Monitor blending processes for quality and consistency, and report deviations or concerns to supervisors.
- Transfer blended products into appropriate containers, label them accurately, and ensure traceability.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of blending tanks, hoses, and the workspace to uphold safety and GMP standards.
- Wear required PPE and follow facility safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promptly report safety incidents, equipment malfunctions, or product irregularities.
- Assist with other production or material-handling duties as needed.
