About The Position

The Black and White Press Operator produces detailed, high-quality printed materials on deadline using high-speed digital printers. The role manages multiple printing projects at once, organizes work around deadlines, and may perform light maintenance when equipment requires attention. The operator also performs light bindery work and helps move jobs through the production workflow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and pressure to meet goals.
• Dependability and ability to work overtime with little or no notice.
• Team-oriented and flexible.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks according to prescribed standards.
• Ability to adjust priorities and approach to changing needs and objectives.
• Communication skills, including listening to understand and asking clarifying questions when messages are unclear.

• Experience running digital printers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Print assigned documents, including setting up and formatting documents using OCE pre-flight software.
• Stock machines as needed.
• Read and understand job paperwork.
• Ensure jobs meet quality standards.
• Move jobs to the next step of the production workflow.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform light maintenance as needed.
• Perform light bindery duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
