About The Position

The Color Press Operator produces detailed, high-quality printed materials in a time-sensitive environment using high-speed digital printers. The role involves configuring print settings such as dimensions, color or contrast, paper stock, and ink cartridges, while managing multiple projects and their deadlines. Operators may also troubleshoot equipment and perform light maintenance when needed. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:45 p.m. to 1:15 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Dependability and flexibility, including the ability to work overtime with little or no notice.
• Moderate computer experience.
• Patience, focus, and high attention to detail.
• Comfort working with machinery and performing maintenance.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to accurately read and interpret measurements on a ruler or tape measure.
• Previous experience using machinery in a professional setting.
• Exposure to HP Z6100 printers.
• Experience with desktop publishing.
• Experience running digital printers in a fast-paced environment.
• At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend general job instructions, including QA checklists, job instructions, special instructions, and change orders.
• Set up and format NexPress or Indigo documents.
• Ensure jobs meet quality standards.
• Perform start-of-shift preventative maintenance and color verification tests.
• Move or update jobs to the next step in the production workflow.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform light maintenance as needed.
• Load paper stock into machines as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
