About The Position
The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse school community in Somerset County serving approximately 3,700 students from Pre-K through grade 12, seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative professional for the position of Biology Teacher at North Plainfield High School. As a high school teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a culture of high expectations and success where all students thrive. For candidates who are still in the process of attaining certification, please note that the North Plainfield School District participates in the NJDOE Limited Certificate Program. This program may allow you to work in a full-time role while completing your final certification requirements. North Plainfield also offers a competitive benefits package.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related subject area
- New Jersey Teacher of Biology
- Strong knowledge of the NGSS/New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and 3-Dimensional Learning
- Data-informed instruction
- Ability to analyze student data to drive instructional decisions and support student growth.
- Collaborative mindset
- Ability to co-teach and work effectively with colleagues to support student success.
- Instructional expertise
- Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, assessment, classroom management, and the use of diverse and creative educational resources.
- Growth mindset
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and instructional improvement.

- Advanced degree preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish candidates preferred but not required
