About The Position

The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with the preparation and operation of laboratory classes, which may be conducted in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid format. The TA2 provides instruction during the laboratory sessions and may be responsible for grading laboratory assignments and quizzes, as well as other clerical tasks associated with the laboratory class experience. Applicants must have successfully completed the course they wish to TA for with a grade of 'B' or higher. The course instructor serves as the direct supervisor and makes the final hiring decision. The TA2 is expected to commit to the full duration of the laboratory section, including time for setup, cleanup, instructor meetings, grading, and other operational activities related to the lab and lecture.

Requirements

Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 quarter.
Must have taken and passed BIOL301/L within the last 4 years with a grade of 'B' or higher, or have been a previous TA2 for this course in the last 4 years.
Must be able to work a laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs, plus allow time for set-up, take-down/cleanup, meetings with the instructor, grading and other operational activities.
Must be cleared and able to start work on or before September 21.

Previous TA2 experience for BIOL301/L within the last 4 years.

Responsibilities
