About The Position
The Guo laboratory in the Department of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a bioinformatician to join the team. The Guo lab studies the genetic and genomic basis of Alzheimer's disease and neurodegenerative diseases.
Requirements
- A level: Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- B level: Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead computational analyses of human and model organism genetic and genomic datasets, including genome sequencing, RNA-seq, and epigenetic sequencing assays.
- Identify germline and somatic mutations and correlate with transcriptomic and epigenetic changes.
- Develop and maintain lab genomic datasets, data storage systems, and software.
- Help train junior trainees on basic computational and bioinformatic skills (Bioinformatician B only).
