About The Position

This role is responsible for placing safety as the top priority in daily work routines for themselves and others. The position involves working under general supervision, performing tasks such as digging ditches, backfilling, moving materials and equipment by hand, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting in the installation and dismantling of equipment. The Utility Worker frequently acts as a helper to Service Mechanics or Meter Repair Mechanics and must understand the purpose of and be able to use standard tools like wrenches and stock and dies. A commercial driver's license is required, and the role may involve performing various routine operating duties.

Requirements

High school education or its equivalent.
Mechanical aptitude and experience.
Fundamental knowledge of pipeline construction.
Minimum of three (3) months training (for Utility B).
Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months training (for Utility A).
Ability to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver’s license.
Ability to perform heavy work such as running a compactor and jackhammer.
Must reside within a twenty (20) mile radius of district headquarters (6313 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, WA 98312).
